Step1 Warm-up and Pre-reading
1. Listen and sing the song: “Happy New Year”
T: Hello,boys and girls! I’m Miss Wang . nice to meet you,

T: Ok ,today I’m your new English teacher . I’m happy .Are you happy?
Ss: Yes .

T: Great ! It’s about New Year .and today we are going to learn something about Chinese New Year (揭题标题贴到黑板上)Teach Chinese New Year

T: do you like Chinese New Year?
Ss: Yes, we do.
T: Me too.When is Chinese New Year this year? Please look at the calendar (PPT) 
  It’s on the 19th of February. We call it Chinese New Year’s Day ,(teach Chinese New Year’s Day)

T: What do you usually do at Chinese New Year?

S2: I usually buy some flowers / buy new clothes / make cakes and tangyuan 
T: If you can’t say it in English .you can say it in Chinese.
Teach some new phrases  eg: watch fireworks, watch a lion dance  pay new year calls ((拜年)  light firecrackers  get red packets
